Apologies

Work has been so crazy. We opened this new store. The VPs loved it. Then we had a bomb scare in another store in the town our corporate office is located. Scary stuff.

It has been super busy and I am hoping I will have more time for all of you this weekend. I have not really read any one's blog since last week, and I have so much to catch up on. It's just that as soon as I get home, I am so exhausted, I go to bed. Working 12-15 hour days is no fun.

Well, back to the daily grind. Catch you all later.

Here's A Quickie

Well, here's a quick post before I go in and mess around with one of the VPs. We grand open on Wednesday. All of the suits from the Mother Ship will be arriving Tuesday and visiting the rest of the zone. They should spend about half the day at the new store before visiting more stores on Wednesday, making my life a living hell for the week.

Here's to 12 hour days for the next week. If I survive, you will be able to read my mumbo-jumbo on the blog. Wish me luck.

Have an awesome day!

Help

I am having issues with my computer. For some reason my security center isn't working correctly and it won't let me fix the problems. I have gone through and did everything on the checklist, but it won't fix it. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Hopefully, I can get this thing fixed so I can post on a regular basis. The computer is being cooperative now, but I don't think it is protected. Just great.

Can anyone help... in elementary english... on how to help fix the problem?

Stress Is Making Me Itch

Just got back from the dermatologist. I have hives caused from stress. Got a prescription. Should be okay after a couple of weeks. Glad that's over with. Nothing major wrong with me.

Well, I am off to work. Just thought I would do a quick post before I left. Here's to a long day.

Soothing Song Eases the Mind

My body just hurts. I worked from 8 to 8 today. I work with some of the most unproductive people. I shouldn't say this for someone in my position.

I am listening to this song on my blog. Somewhere Over the Rainbow. This version of the song is my favorite. There is something about the man's voice that is so soothing. I love it. It lifts my spirits every time I hear it, hence the reason I put it on the blog.

Well, this post will be short. I relax by reading all of your blogs. Have a wonderful evening.

Tidbits

I can hear those screeching locusts outside. The calls bellowing in and out, as if to say something is coming. Of course! Fall is almost here. I can't wait! We actually saw some rain yesterday and a light sprinkle today. We need the moisture pretty bad.

Back to a full week of school tomorrow for the kid. He had to do a project already. Only three days into the school year and the first weekend home he has a homework project. There are times when I don't miss school at all.

Well, Josh is getting on my nerves right now, so I am getting off the computer. Boyfriends can be such a pain in the ass sometimes.
I am off to work. Another day in merchandising paradise. Hooray.

Some Of Us

Hey everyone. I feel like a mule that has been flogged for about eight hours. I am beat...

So, I am off to read all your blogs. It's been an interesting week for some of us. Some of us decided to give in to temptation. Some of us have had some recent stormy weather in our lives. Some of us wake up wondering where the days have gone. Some of us have so much love and joy in our hearts from our beautiful children. And some of us have been on the back of a motorcycle cruisin'.

Ah, don't you just love life?

Friday, August 17, 2007

Just got off the phone with Annabel. She is getting ready for school and has been so busy lately. It seems we have all been very busy lately. Perhaps this is the reason why there are no major holidays in the month of August. Hmm.

Well, this post will be short. I am picking up the kid today and we are going to go somewhere after school. I am sure he will want to go and get ice cream again. Yum!

Thanks

Well, thanks so much for your support. Sometimes it's good to hear from someone else besides the people you work with. I spent my day off today taking my kid to his first day of 7th grade, then proceeded to go into work. I just got home. His dad picked him up from school and now will be dropping him off shortly. I am taking half a day off on Friday to make up for the lost day. My plans are to pick my kid up and go enjoy an ice cream after school. It should be hot enough and will make the day a little special for the both of us. Love that kid!

So, now I am off to read all of your blogs. I wasn't able to get on last night cuz' I watched Big Brother. Jessica is from my area, so we are all rooting for her!!

Tired

I am just plumb tired today. I am tired of some of these stupid, idiotic people I work with. Okay, get ready for a major rant!

Ignorant egomaniacs who can't make a frickin' decision to save their lives. Then, when a decision is made, they frickin' change it the next day. Make up your minds people! We obviously pay you too much money to think in those cushy office pads of yours. You forget what it's like to work in our environment, around REAL customers, and REAL employees who have lives outside of this money hungry company. Where do you get the audacity to treat your employees like shit? Don't forget who your bread and butter is!!!!!

Unfortunately, I am talking about my co-workers who seem to forget where they came from.

Why, thank you. I feel much better now. :)

Baby Steps

Life would be horrible without you in it. Every time you must go away, I always miss you so much. I have dreams on those nights when you aren't here. I worry that you will be taken care of where you are. Perhaps it is because you are my only one. Emotions run high when I think about leaving this world one day and leaving you behind. Will you be okay? Will you be able to take care of yourself? No one told me when I decided to have a child how emotional some days would be. No one told me how a maternal instinct to protect her child would mean doing anything humanly possible on this earth, including sacrificing life. No one told me how wonderful it was going to be.

I don't usually get emotional about posts. But, I dreamed about my kid last night. He is at his dad's house this weekend. I miss him when he goes. He is getting older every day and sometimes I have to do a double-take, wondering where all the time went. He starts school Wednesday, and while I have never had a hard time letting go, this year is different. He will be in the 7th grade, in the middle grade at his school. He keeps wanting to do things on his own, try new stuff, and I am not eager for him to do so. I eventually give in, knowing he needs to get out there on his own eventually and learn what it's like to be a young adult. Baby steps...

I made homemade chili rellenos late last night. I am enjoying them tonight. Whew! Turned out pretty good!

Just got back from Josh's nephew's 4th birthday party. The kid had a million transformers. Not to brag, but I loved the gift we got him. It was an Optimus Prime helmet that the kid could put on. When he talked, he sounded like the robot. Who's the coolest aunt and uncle! Oh yeah!

Back To School

Okay, so the last post was damn near perfect in describing me. I am extremely driven and ambitious. I look for it in others as well. Getting things done quickly is correct. I don't like waiting around for things to happen. I AM a great judge of character! I have all of you as my blogging friends and I have made excellent choices on who! I love challenges, especially at work when the "impossible" needs to be done. One thing, I am obsessed with status and power, especially at work. But it's not how some would think. I am always bragging about my zone and the people who work in it. I always want us to be #1 in everything and I am extremely competitive in order to get there. The people I oversee are the same way. They are hardworking and driven. They want it just as bad as I do. No one comes to work wanting to do a bad job. They are all some awesome people! I am very passionate about the people side of our business. Without them, our company wouldn't be able to survive. I started at the bottom and I will never forget what it's like growing up in the business. I won't ever forget where I came from.

So... just got back from school shopping with the kid. I dropped a small load of cash on supplies and "needs" for his room. New under the bed storage, desk storage, backpack, binders, folders, paper, notebooks, pencils, pens, markers, compass, protractor, calculator, rulers, highlighters, scissors, watercolors, colored pencils, graph paper, college ruled paper, tissue paper, and index cards - just to name a few. I always buy double of everything, that way he has supplies at home so he doesn't have to bring any home from school. I know, I'm weird. But I love shopping for school supplies. It's one of my all time favorite things to do with my kid. The reason is because I know fall is right around the corner.

We're good on clothes for now. I will have to buy jeans and hoodies in the fall. Probably another pair of shoes as well. The kid is growing like a weed! Just came back from the doctor on Monday and he is 5ft. 3 inches and 107 pounds. He is already in a men's 9 1/2 shoe and the kid is only 12. He's long and lanky, opposite of me. I am tall, but far from lanky. He will take after his dad. I guess if that's all he gets from him, we are good to go.

Long post today! I will check back in later with everyone! Have an awesome day!

Does This Sound Like Me?

Your Expression Number is 8
Driven and ambitious, you have the potential to reach great things. You're both good with money and good at getting things done quickly. You are an excellent leader and a great judge of character.
Full of energy and confidence, you undertake projects that seem impossible.Dependable and determined, you are able to understand the bigger picture.Even if you are not in a position of power right now, it will fall to you.
At times, you can be very materialistic - and obsessed with status and power. While this isn't always a bad thing, you sometimes take it to the extreme. In order to be truly happy, you must balance the material and spiritual in your life.

Same Ole

I actually get a day off tomorrow. WooHoo! I am hoping to hear back from Phelan about going blueberry picking, as I have never done any picking before in my life. Should prove to be interesting if it all pans out.

I am looking at my bowl of cream of wheat, swirls of brown and yellow intertwine with the creamy goodness. Ugh, just think of what it will look like once it's in your stomach. Okay, quit picturing that.

Not a huge post today. I would like to give you a link to a blog I love to read. It's called Andfreville, and my friend Andfre is from Banff, Canada. Beautiful country up there. Anyway, stop by and give him a nice hello today. You can find him on my sidebar, or click here.

Well, here's to another day of the same ole same ole. Have a good one!

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

I am sitting here eating a bowl of my kid's cereal, something like cinnamon bun swirl? Anyway, I am trying to type as fast as I can so I can read some of my favorites this morning before I have to drive to the store. Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Signing into my own blog this morning and I get "Dancing Queen" blaring out at me. How funny.

Well, it's another day. I am off to work hell! Wish me luck!

In Honor of Max

Today I am baking a nutless brownie in honor of my one month old friend. If you would like to know who I am talking about, check out this little cutie here.

It's a little early. I am up doing some laundry and kitchen stuff before I have to go in. The kid has a check-up today at the doctor for school. It should be an uneventful day. Here's to it!

Damn Good!

I cooked dinner this evening. It was pretty good. I made a hummus appetizer for the first time. I purchased some roasted red pepper hummus from one of my stores. I placed it in a dish and lined the hummus with thinly sliced cucumbers. I sliced up three kalamata olives, no need for pits, and drizzled the whole thing with extra virgin olive oil. I cut strips of pita bread for dipping and holy cow! It was really good!

For dinner I marinated some Sterling Silver ribeyes with Daddy Hinkle's seasoning and marinade. Yummy! I also marinated fresh asparagus in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Not only did we grill beef, we also grilled fresh Atlantic salmon, drizzled in sesame oil, salt, and pepper. I made some sticky rice to accompany the meat. I must say... it was damn good!

Wish you could have all been over for dinner. We had plenty and the great company would have ended the night perfectly. Here's to a great evening!

No Days Off

Morning! I am getting ready to head into work. Half day today. The kid will be coming back home from his dad's house. Can't wait!

We are going to be cleaning house today. My living room and kitchen need a good sparkle. Not much around town this weekend. I have just been notified by my boss that we will not get any days off starting August 10 through to September 10. We have a grand opening coming up. How's that for working your ass off?

Well, talk at you later.

Another Day

Cream of wheat this morning with a dollop of butter, sprinkled with brown sugar. The warm goodness soothes me inside. The garden has already been watered this morning, taking in all of the natural wonder we call water. Without water means no survival. The scorching sun will prove to be a match today. Hopefully, the plants won't suffer too much this afternoon.

Well, I got my hair done and I absolutely love it. I have also found a girl who I want on a regular basis. Finding the right person is key. Her name is Dema. She is very talented.

Well, it's another long day at work. I am going to a co-worker's birthday party for a little while this evening. I am off now to check out your blog!

Dearest Andrew

Well, I just popped over to see what my dear friend Andrew wrote today. He wrote about me! What a doll! He wrote about the time he didn't blog for almost a week. Every one of his regular readers were frantic, including me. Well, I didn't get that way until I started receiving emails from people, wanting me to do something. I started to get worried. So, I called the local authorities to see if they would do a wellness check for me. The lady I talked to on the phone was so nice. She told me it wasn't every day to get calls from girls in Kansas checking up on boys from Alabama. Well, she obviously didn't know this particular boy! Andrew is a rarity. He is unique. I would do it all over again if I had to.

Love ya Andrew! You will always be #1 in my book. I started with you as my very first regular reading blog. Remember that a year ago? I read every single post in your archive and commented my way through to date. It took me a little less than a week to get through all of your past posts. By the time I was done, I knew you would be a friend for life. Thanks for always seeing the good in people. You have enriched so many lives. I don't think you have any idea just how many.

Thanks for being such a wonderful human being.

It's A Hair Day

Well, how are you? I am off again today. WooHoo!

I have a hair appointment at 9. I wish it were Cheryl doing my hair today. She is very talented. Anyway, I am getting it layered and getting some color. I have the part underneath a dark brown with the top part being light brown. I am going to get some red put in today. Maybe even lighten the top just a tad more.

Then I am just going to relax and try to get some laundry done this afternoon. Fun Fun!
