Wonderful Weekend of Pictures

Hey everyone! It was a good weekend, even though our Chiefs lost. I was at the game and I could have thrown my shoe at the team several times. Ugh...
So, Bonnie was curious to know a little more about Kansas and where I live. I wasn't able to get any pictures of Wichita, but I was able to get some pictures of the scenery on our way to Kansas City. If you click on the picture, you get a better view.

Flint Hills

Famous Cattle Pens off of the turnpike.

The scenery of the Flint Hills is beautiful. The Kansas River is one of the prettiest rivers. This was shot going through Lawrence. Then, there is Kansas City at 6:30 in the morning. The stadium at 7:00 am. And the last picture is what we got to drive through on the way home. It was raining so hard, we did about 40 mph for about half an hour.

Hey AbbaG - thank you. they are beautiful. The last one reminds me of driving through Ohio/Indiana in the rain. WIDE OPEN. BTW... where ARE those grocery stores?

Great photos abbag---happy that you had a good weekend, sorry your chiefs lost, isn't that always the way, they lose when we are there to cheer them on? Have a good week, at least the dreaded Monday is already behind us...:)

Did you stay til the end? The stands were looking pretty empty by the end of the game...sad that the last minute TD made us all so happy.

I don't think I'm in Kansas anymore, Toto.

Sorry for my lame joke.

Gorgeous! I love the country, wide open spaces are in my blood. I am so happy you posted some pictures... that doesnt happen too often but I'd like to see more. Too bad the Chiefs lost though. My team won today, I watched most of the first half on TV before having to drive my daughter to the city for training.
