Friends

After reading Annabel's post this evening, it made me wonder about my life with limited girlfriends. I have some friends I work with, but they live far away. I noticed I have way more guy friends than I do girl friends. Why is that?

I also wish I had more friends to hang out with. Most of the women I know are either too immature or not the kind of people I have much in common with. I wonder if it is just me. It probably is. I am somewhat outspoken and very much an extrovert.

Who knows. I edited my profile. Saying how generous of a person I am seemed selfish. Take a look and let me know what you think. All I ask - Be kind, be true.

I like it! The only thing I want to add is that it takes a little bit of time to get to know you, and I feel like you're starting to open up. That's really cool.

The main reason you have more guy friends is....

Boobies.

Just a thought.

Later Y'all

I think you're great. And I was fine with "I'm generous".

I also wish I had more girlfriends. It's just been in the last few months that my friend Kit and I have been hanging out on a regular basis. Part of it is that Em's now old enough to be home by herself, though not at night. She doesn't like that.

You asked about my coffe drink...I get a tall caramel latte, extra shot, extra hot. Sometimes they forget to drizzle caramel syrup on top and I ask for it. I like it much better at Borders than Starbucks. Starbucks now has automated espresso machines, and I think it just tastes milky. I get regular coffee there. Also, I get many, many giftcards to Borders from my clients for Christmas, so I get the fancy drinks.

About your profile...I work with someone whom others think is stuck up. She's very pretty, young, and doesn't talk to a lot of the staff. I happen to know that what's mistaken for snobbery is actually shyness. So when you say that people don't like you at first, it's because they don't know you. I think your profile is very honest, but that maybe you're painting a harsher view than you should. And, I liked what you said about being generous. There's my opinion.

I think you are very kind and if we lived closer to each other, I am sure we'd be friends. I know you live in Kansas, but I'm not sure where. (I'm not certain if you've ever mentioned it.) I'm going to be in Wichita this summer for week so if you're around that area, maybe we could do lunch!

And in response to Cheryl's comment above... I am OFTEN mistaken for being a snob because I am shy. I may be a speech teacher, but I have never been good at small talk.

more guy friends than girl friends? me too, always have. Maybe that's why you and I get on...we can be girl friends and not get on each others' nerves due to the long distance aspect >evil grin<
