13 Hours and 116 Miles Later

Today was a long day. I hit so many stores, it's not even funny. Every one is ready for Thanksgiving. Produce is packed high and watching it fly. Meat has so many birds everywhere, you would think we were South for the winter. Deli has dinners up to their ears. And bakery has enough pies and rolls to feed a small country. The perishable departments are where the big sales will be at this year. Frozen foods and dairy will be next. Then the baking and veg aisles.

Hint for those of you still having to shop. Go between 9 and 10 am. It's the best time. Not too busy, but late enough for the night stockers to have thrown all of their stock and the shelves be filled.

Tomorrow should be a little slower. I wanted to get certain stores out of the way today so I could concentrate on specific ones tomorrow. I am not going to lie, I am beat. My feet, neck, shoulders, and back hurt. I am planning on reading a couple of blogs, taking a nice hot shower, and then calling it a night.

I leave you with this question.

What is one thing you would personally love to see under the Christmas tree this year?

Leave your answers in the comments.

My answer - new cookware (pots and pans).

I have a few things left to buy, and I'll follow your advice and go before work.

I would be thrilled to find an iTouch below the Christmas tree. Of course the only way that would happen would be if I bought it for myself, which I'm not going to do. The other things on my list, not that you asked for more than one, would be a portable GPS, and a KitchenAid mixer. What I will find is lots of gifts from my clients that I put under the tree to open on Christmas morning. My greatest pleasure is watching Emily open her gifts.

I want to get out of NY for a while. I would love it if I had airline tickets under the tree. I want to go someplace with hills and cliffs and lots of green. Someplace huge and expansive and not at all cramped up and crowded and neurotic, as NY can sometimes tend to be...

love,
h

Candles. I need candles. And Kitchen rugs. And stupid, boring stuff like that, because I don't shop unless the sky is falling and it doesn't fall for things like that. :)

a 10 megapixel 3" LCD screen digital camera.
a laptop
a trip to somewhere warm and beachy

I'm not asking too much am I? I'm might be able to pull off the first one because my camera is shot but the other two are just me dreaming.

Will new floors for my dining room and living room fit under the tree? That's what I want...and maybe a portable GPS, also. A vacation some where tropical and peaceful would be awesome, too...I don't ask for much! =)

Such a fun question. I will answer it on both philosophical and traditional grounds:

Philosophical:

1. I would like my mother to be back with us physically. That, by far, is the best gift that I can never have again.

2. National health care for all, so that your health does not depend upon what job you have.

3. An enthusiasm in our nation for pursuit of science research.

Traditonal:

1. A new DSLR digital camera.

2. A trip somewhere warm for a week so that I can wear shorts and go swimming.

3. A new watch.

Me....I'd love a digital camera, a digital video camera, a portable CD player and a plasma TV. A girl can dream can't she?

hmmm....that's a tuff question. I really have everything I want. I'd like my own place to live but that really won't fit. I'd like a handsome, romantic, kind spirited cowboy...could you wrap that one up under the tree for me? LOL

I know you'll probably be busy right thru the holidays, but try and relax and enjoy.

Blessings

I love when you ask questions. You are provocative and get so many responses. Hmmmm...the best presents under the tree would be for Steve this year. I owe him for last year. Then, I'd like my studio to be finished. Done. Everything installed and working. I think I'd like a puppy.

If I were stil single I would have responded with: an attractive, naked man with a red ribbon around his...waist. :>

hm, come to think of it, it's a cheap thing to do, maybe I can get hubby to do it at any rate. I am getting a house for my birthday so let's not get spoiled here.
