Mother's Day and More

I trust everyone had a great Mother's Day Weekend. I went home to my parents' house with boyfriend, kid, and a ton of food in tow. We arrived around 2 pm on Sunday and decided to grill out. We brought everyone a KC Strip, loaded baked potato salad, cream cheese corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, and rolls. It was an awesome meal. Funny though. The moms all ended up doing the dishes. We all retired out to the back yard where my kid, boyfriend, brother, and my future brother-in-law were all playing soccer. Did I mention that all three except my kid are 27? Weird, huh? They all get along quite well too.

My little nephew is now 13 months old and cannot walk yet. He walks around on his knees. It's quite funny, actually. He looks like a mini baby walking around. He has quite a temper which I am sure came from his mom and dad!

Josh and I have decided to sell the house next year instead of waiting for three years. I just can't live in this house for that long. I don't want to live in this house for that long. We need a much bigger house. Our current home has three bedrooms, one very small bathroom, two living rooms, a huge kitchen, a laundry room, and no garage. It sucks. I am looking for a home with at least four bedrooms, two baths, two-car garage, two living rooms, good-size kitchen, a dining room, a laundry room, and a big yard. This is the least of what I am looking for. I would also like to have a pantry, a foyer, a bar area, etc., etc. These are some of the extras. We are going to look into buying a home or even custom building one. We can't decide. We still have some time. I have been looking at some houses currently on the market. They are pretty reasonable so far. I don't know what the market will look like a year from now.

I still have to do my tag from Terri. I am suppose to show you my purse and everything in it. You will laugh when you see it. I promise that tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening.

I didn't know about your house. Well, you have a goal, and know what you want. If I hadn't been married and divorced, I'd never have the kind of house I have. Never.

With all the cooking you do, you need a big, fully-equipped kitchen. :)

We're also thinking of buying a house after the wedding. I want one with a backyard, big enough for our future kids to run around.

Cna't you just convert one of those living rooms into a garage and then you'll be all set? :>

Your dream house sounds awesome. One day I'm going to have a bar in my home and then all will be right with the world.

Sounds like you had a great weekend, as did I. Is there anything more fun than house hunting? I love it. Good luck with all your new plans.

The thought of moving makes me queasy and need to lay down. :/

Now my turn for the food questions:
-what's a KC Strip? A cut of steak?
-cream cheese corn? We have cream corn, which my daughter loves so much, is it that but with grated cheese on top or...?
Interesting the small food differences from there to here. Have you ever had poutine?

When I go to family gatherings the moms usually do the cleanup, except at Christmas where my dad and I have a tradition to do the cleanup from Christmas Dinner, which is always about as much mess as you can get from one meal.

Your house actually sounds good compared to the tiny 2 bedroom apartment I live in, with one tiny washroom, a small kitchen and one small living room, with a shared laundry room down the hall. No yard or balcony, in other words nowhere to put a BBQ.

I can’t aspire to much more unless I meet someone and we move together. But hey, I am fond of my little place... at least it's at one of the best scenic locations anywhere! But sometimes I think about moving back to Saskatchewan where I can buy a place for 1/10 of the price here.
