Hope

More storms are brewing this evening. There is one on the doppler radar that is headed straight for Wichita right now as I type this. I will make this post brief.

My heart goes out to the people who are stricken with the recent tragedies from Mother Nature. She can be a tough ole' broad, can't she?

One thing I hope for - That the people of Greensburg do not lose hope themselves. If there is one thing you have, it is the strong community which you call your friends and neighbors. It is the family who has known you for years. It is the neighborhood kids you watched growing up, wondering how they grew up so fast. It is you.

If you are wondering how you can help out and live within the state, there are many local businesses who have set up a disaster relief plan. KSN has set up a drive for the citizens and rescue workers of Greensburg. You can make donations at your local Dillons grocery store and Qwik Shops. I do believe they are taking non-perishable food, water, and cash donations. Please help out where you can.

If you are living out of state and would like to know how to help. I urge you to write this next bit of information down:

Donations may be made to: United Way of Reno County Greensburg Relief, P.O. Box 2230, Hutchinson, KS 67504-2230. Contributions must be designated as "Greensburg Relief".

Thanks so much for listening. If you are not able to make a donation, please keep these people and community in your thoughts and prayers.

Now, I am getting prepared for the next round of storms. I'll be back tomorrow with an update. Hope you all have a fantastic week.

I wasn't sure where in Kansas you lived, but am glad you are OK. So sad about the communities affected by the tornados.

There was one storm that came through that I was concerned for you, because it would have got to you before me.

We plan on taking the kids and visiting the well when they open it again. I loved going there as a kid.
