Restless Night

I will warn you about this post. It will include a story about vomit, so if you have a weak stomach, well, skip it.

Yesterday was not the best day at work. We received a visit from our VPs and when they left this particular store, they were not very happy. We had an emergency meeting to walk this store last night and get down what we were going to accomplish the next few days. This just kills me. I can't stand the fact that we must be ready and wonderful for these guys. It should be that we are up and ready to go for our customers.

So, I get home last night completely exhausted and stressed out. Why, you ask? While walking that particular store, I get a phone call at 6:15 that my kid's dad has not picked him up from camp yet. The camp closes at 6:00 and they charge $1 for every minute you are late. Josh called and said he would get him. The cost for the tardy will now cost $25. Great. I was in a rush to get home and had a little anxiety about the whole day. It just sucked.

After I got home I remembered that I forgot the few groceries we needed. So, dinner plans are now screwed up. We order take-out from one of my favorite Asian restaurants and settle down for the evening.

Around 2 am I get up and my throat is on fire. It tastes like I swallowed battery acid. Every time I coughed, more acid would come up. I tried to swallow and swallow. I went to the kitchen to grab some milk to help coat my throat, but realized that I forgot it earlier as it was one of the items I forgot to bring home. I went to the bathroom and decided to brush my teeth. Guess the toothbrush on the tongue wasn't the best move because it triggered the gag reflex. Thank goodness I was next to the toilet. I threw up about three heaves. It was gross. My throat felt so much better though. I threw up so hard my throat was bleeding. Gross, huh.

I brushed my teeth once again. I felt my head and it was pretty warm. I went to lay down and Josh was up getting his shoes on. What in the world was he doing?

"Uh, where are you going?" I asked.

"I am running up to the QT to grab some milk and antacids for you."

"No, just lay back down. I am fine now." I said.

"I'll be right back."

He left and was back in less than ten minutes. He came into the bedroom with a glass of milk and two Rolaids. Ugh, I so dislike chalky flavored stuff. But, I wasn't going to complain. I took everything like a child who was sick with the flu. I thanked him and laid back down. Wow, that was awfully nice of him.

I am now at home and my head hurts pretty bad this morning. Not sure why. Anyway, I am suppose to be off today, but we are all suppose to be at this store to get it ready for our walk-thru. I am not going in until much later. Work really sucks sometimes.

So, I think I just had a bout of acid reflux. What do you think it could be? I didn't eat anything unusual. I thought maybe stress had part to blame. Who knows.

I think it might be a bad case of acid reflux. I usully don't suffer from that but I realized when The Analyst was stressing my out so bad I was getting occasional bouts of acid reflux. I later found out that stress is one causes of acid reflx. It sounds like you were under a tremendous amount of stress.

I was just going to lurk and not say much until I saw the word verification letters.

I just couldnt let this pass by.

SMENITA.

Just make your own definition.

LMAO
Work still sucks. I don't think it will stop sucking. They are driving everyone hard. I quit three times last week and they talked me out of it. I am just real close to telling them to stuff it. One of these times I will be angry enough to just go walk out the door.

I think they have reached the peak of production of the limited staff they maintain and there is just no more they can get from us. They need more bodies to do everything they want but they are just looking at the bottom line.

Later Y'all.

I hope you're feeling better. You're probably like me when I get sick... overworked and stressed. Try to take it easy if you can.

I am planning visiting Andrew at the end of July. I'm holding on to some money that should allow for the trip.

I don't know why you got sick, but, yuck! Poor you. Isn't it just the worst? How sweet of your son to take care of you. Good luck with the suits. I agree it's the customers you should be impressing.

I dont know. It could be stress. Maybe if I had a family doctor I would know these things.
Sounds like you have a good man :)

I love that you warned us ahead of time that the post was going to include vomit!

It sounded pretty nasty and if it is acid reflux it may come back
:o( but hopefully not!

I hope you are feeling much better today!
Well, my flu still has not let up and I have been coughing like an idiot all through the week.

Sometimes acid reflux can be caused by too much MSG since I read you had Asian take-out. I sometimes get this reaction especially whn my gastric is acting up.

Well I do hope the vomitting is not a sign tht you are coming down with the flu or cold.
Hope u can get some rest today!

I do think it was acid reflux caused by stress. Try to take better care of yourself.

I hope you are doing better now. Do try to be easy on yourself as much as possible!

I have a sensitive throat and sometimes it bleeds when its raw. The Asian food you had might have been spicy too, which probably didn't help.

Take care of youself!
-P

by the way I got "vahplr" for word verification, it sounds like a fabic to me. :>

Asian food on a night filled with great amounts of stress can very easily trigger acid reflux. Asian food is usually oily to some degree even in the sauces. If there is any kind of spice it makes it worse. If you don't have an ulcer keep a bottle of pepcid around. Works way better than rolaids or tums.

Definitley acid reflux. I get it just like that if I drink alcohol late then lay down, also if i eat anything oily, greasy before I go to bed.

It makes you gasp for air almost, you can't breathe.

Horrible.
I'd go easy on oily asian food if I were you.
yes, I know, from a asian it sounds funny but the food we have at home is very simple and light on spices.
at least it wasnt food poisioning, eh?
