Bigger and Better - Not Today

People piss me off. I found out a person who got the job that I was "overqualified" for is making more money than me. Grrrr...

Now I know why they say not to talk about how much you make. I didn't reveal how much I made to this guy, but I was pissed on the inside. He's only been with the company for six years. Ugh. I have been with the company for twelve. I have a totally different job than he does. I work for the "operations" side of the business. He is a manager. I tell him what to do. He makes more than me. Does anyone smell something fishy here?

Anyway, I have been pretty busy with work lately. I have noticed that some of my blogging friends have stopped coming by. Oh well. I guess they have moved on to bigger and better things. Their loss, right?

I'm still hanging...

I've been reading and that's taken me away from writing lately. And the weather...busy outside. Ya know. I'm looking forward to a morning at Panera's tomorrow. Have a good Sunday.

PS. Em loves it when you direct comments to her. Cause it's all about her, you know?

I'm still reading, but doing it via google like Andrew so it may seem like I'm not visiting... I still read every time you post. I just don't always comment.

I'm not too late for attendance, am I? ;-) Still here, sis. Hangin' with ya and will be for the long haul.

As for the wage disparity thing? It totally sucks. I notice that you used "he"...any chance you're getting less just because you're a woman? (double grrr)

I don't blame you for being angry about your job. That really sucks.
I read your blog every day, by the way and will continue to do so.
Take care

Sometimes, reading blogs via a newsreader causes a lack of commenting, not to be confused with a lack of readership... so you might be saying "their loss" to people who still read your blog, and since some of those readers think the universe revolves exclusively around them, they might think you're mad at them.

p.s. It sure does SUCK that he makes more. Hmmmm?!? I surely hope it's not discrimination! Anyone you can bring that up with?

what everyone else said and, it's the start of summer, so I think free time at the computer gets a little taken over by free time outside instead.

Have you tried negotiating for a raise before? There's been lots of buzz lately (MSN, Good Morning America, etc) that companies won't pay you what your worth until your willing to ask for it.

You should do some homework and see if it's worth it, that money could add up to big bucks over a few years.

A woman after my own heart! I hate people, overall, and hate people who get breaks at work when I don't. Oh, I'm a meanie!

I read almost every day! Got to have my abbagirl fix, almost as much as coffee or [used to be] smokes. God I want a smoke.

I agree w/ Proxima...maybe you should ask for a raise...go in there and tell them what you want to be paid. All they can do is say no.

A couple years ago, I was in a similar situation. I'd been promoted, but the raise that came along with it was laughable! I put up with it for a while, and then I was offered a job w/ another company for A LOT more money. I took that offer to my boss, and told hime that I really didn't want to leave, but I couldn't pass up the money. Within an hour, he came back to me and said he'd match it...and I stayed!

I am sorry to hear that. We went through that with my husband's job, but things turned out better...later.
