Welcome Back To Work

Dinner is almost ready. We are eating a little later than usual. What's for dinner? Well, we are having rosemary baked chicken thighs, garlic mashed red potatoes, and steamed broccoli with a touch of butter sauce. Definitely a comfort meal. It's been raining all day, so it just seemed right to cook a meal like this. We are just waiting for the chicken to brown in the oven.

Work was decent today. In no way did I outdo myself. I totally took it easy and only worked until about 2 pm. I still need to read about 50 emails or so and go over some more paperwork. I don't plan on going all out until after the first week. Baby steps.

I did two store visits today, listened to a conference call for an hour and a half, talked to HR about a personnel issue, took notes on some holiday merchandising I want to do for a store next week, and pretty much got back in touch with a couple of management people I haven't seen in a month.

I then came home, watched the shows I Dvr'd last night, prepped dinner, started cooking dinner, and now I am here waiting for dinner to get done. The kid should be home soon from visiting his dad. I can't wait. I made him some roasted almond caramel bars yesterday. Ooh, they are so good.

Well, I better get dinner served up for the family. Hope you all survived Monday.

I survived my Monday. I'm glad to hear you did too. I had a simple dinner of sauteed shrimp and Trader Joe's mixed organic veggies with pretzels for dessert. Your dinner sounded much better than mine.

I made garlic mashed potatoes and my child hated them, she wanted the kind Papaw made, Hungry Jack out of the box! I give up! Have a great week!

Very glad you didn't over-do yourself. Hope today is the same.

Roasted Almond Caramel bars? I am now doing an impression of Homer J. Simpson.

Recipe please?

I've got some prescription drugs that can knock you out. Oh wait, that's illegal, and I'm too lazy to mail them to the midwest at any rate. Are you still in the midwest now? I'm so far behind. (sigh)

Hope you get a rested sleep soon!
