Well, I went into the store yesterday and there was no sign of the store manager. Too bad. Today I have to give a small presentation to some people in one of our smaller stores. It's about our company and community service. Should be easy. I don't have problems getting up in front of people and talking.
There is still plenty of ice and "snow" on the ground. I just can't wait for it to melt. I have to walk carefully with the shoes I wear or you could find me sitting on my rear.
We are slowly unpacking and getting things situated. Now that I have time, it's taking longer than expected. It happens.
I heard yesterday that bonus checks will be issued in March. It's going to be a good year. I will be able to plan for a trip to New York City. I have never been there and I want to see so much. I am still headed to Columbus and Seattle in a couple of weeks. Traveling is something to get used to for this year. I hate to fly.
Okay, so I better get out the door. I have a conference call this morning and a construction meeting at our market place store. Good day to all.

A Rusty Platter May Be In My Future
My work trip to KC was cancelled due to weather. Thank you Mother Nature! Although the trip would have been a fun one, I was not looking forward to driving my whole entire advisory panel up there. Three and a half hours in an SUV with five other women is enough to make me go mad. I enjoy driving alone and prefer going by myself to whatever destinations. It would have been hard to do, that's all.
I have to review some store numbers tomorrow. Ugh, I don't care for this part of the job either. It usually consists of me sitting on my ass in front of the computer for about five hours. Boooring!
One of my bosses pissed off a store manager to the highest level possible by telling her the store was flawless WITH the exception of one of her departments. Now, normally one would not get mad to such constructive feedback, if you will allow me to call it that. But, the boss told this store manager the reason the department was in poor shape was because of lack of management involvement.
Uh, yeah. Wrong thing to say!
Of course, I was copied on this email that was sent. I am suppose to go into this particular store tomorrow and am not looking forward to it. Hopefully, I won't get my ass handed to me on a rusty platter.

Three Days of Pleasant Weather - Stop the Insanity
The past three days have been wonderful. The weather has been horrible, but I have been off from work. I am sitting at my desk, looking out of the window to freezing rain. Lovely. There must be something good about freezing rain pellets, right? No, can't think of any.
I am suppose to go to a baby shower today. I have to go because I am bringing the cake. It is close to my apartment, but quite a distance from the house I am living in now. Joy.
Well, I guess I better get going. I have gift cards I have to buy yet and I still need to pick up the cake. I will post later if time allows.

We're In
I just realized that I am at the #202 post mark. Didn't even realize it. Anyway, we are moved in. We still have a couple of odds and ends at my apartment, but I have the rest of the month to get that out, plus clean it from top to bottom.
There were a bunch of wrecks on Kellogg (Highway 54). Crazy people not going the speed limit and not watching out for other cars. I saw two wrecks happen. One was in front of us and one was behind us. I hope those people were okay because I could not stop to help them.
We are expected to get more crappy weather tomorrow and even later in the week. Our stores are still up and running, but trucks are running late. I heard that one of the stores in Missouri has been without power since 8:30 last night. That sucks.
Well, gotta go get started on the long process of unpacking. It's going to take weeks. I have to clean stuff before I unpack. The house did not get cleaned by Josh's sister before she left. Seeing my previous post about the duel with the refrigerator, you can imagine what the rest of the house was like.
Till' later...
